Linked Reservations

Book multiple rooms under a single reservation using Linked Reservations in Veridien.

When a guest needs more than one room -- a family booking adjoining rooms, or a small business trip where one person is coordinating several rooms -- Linked Reservations let you tie multiple rooms together under a single reservation. This keeps everything organised under one confirmation number and one guest contact, while each room maintains its own folio and room assignment.

Overview

Linked Reservations were introduced in Veridien v3.4.0. They replace the need to create separate, unrelated reservations when a single party requires multiple rooms. By linking rooms together, the front desk can see at a glance that the rooms belong to the same booking, making coordination at check-in and checkout significantly easier.

A Linked Reservation consists of a primary reservation and one or more linked rooms. The primary reservation holds the lead guest's contact details and serves as the main reference point. Each linked room can have its own room type, rate plan, and guest name if needed.

When to use Linked Reservations

Use Linked Reservations whenever a single party is booking more than one room. Common scenarios include:

  • A family booking two or three rooms for a holiday
  • A company coordinator reserving rooms for a small team
  • A guest requesting a second room for a travelling companion

Linked Reservations vs. individual bookings

If the rooms are being booked independently by different people who happen to know each other, individual reservations are more appropriate. Linked Reservations are designed for situations where one person is responsible for the entire booking.

Key details

  • All linked rooms share a single confirmation number with the primary reservation.
  • Each room can have a different room type and rate plan.
  • Individual guest names can be assigned to each linked room.
  • Changes to the primary reservation (such as cancellation) may affect all linked rooms, so review carefully before making modifications.

Cancellation behaviour

Cancelling the primary reservation may cancel all linked rooms. If only one room needs to be cancelled, remove that specific linked room rather than cancelling the entire reservation.
